Something that in principle may seem the same, in the end are totally different concepts.

A vinoteca is the place where wines are exposed and sold, taking actions in most cases  orientated towards promoting the wine culture, whether a wine shop is a place were they sell wine on a general basis. 

Every wine shop is not a vinoteca, because one thing is to sell wine and a very different one is to take actions, within a web site or a shop, orientated towards promoting the wine world. However all vinotecas are wine shops although they go beyond of what the concept of specialized wine shop involves. There you will receive all kind of information you may require, as they have greater knowledge of their wines and will always have updated vintages in stock.
