A VERY COMPLICATED HARVEST AHEAD

A VERY COMPLICATED HARVEST AHEAD

sep 15, 2021

For this year’s harvest, we are facing one of the most complicated beginnings in the last years.

Although we come from a very dry cycle, the rainfall of the recent days has been far more that what the vineyards needed.

All we want now is that the Cierzo wind starts to blow and dries the vines so we can initiate the 2021 harvest, which we expect to start at “cruising speed” with the help of this wind.

Right now, the maturation of the Tempranillo grapes only need a little push to reach their optimum ripening conditions but for the Garnacha grapes there are some differences. The vines with a minor number of clusters are maturing faster and they will be able to be collected earlier, but the ones planted in the most elevated areas or with a larger number of clusters, are evolving at a normal rate and for the collection of these we will still have to wait.

We truly hope meteorology will be with us along these days!!
