Today Wednesday 21st of August,  Viñedos de Aldeanueva S.Coop. begins the harvest with the White Tempranillo variety. The harvest is carried out at night, when temperature is at its lowest, starting with the reception at the winery at 6:00 am. and finishing by 10:00 am. The plots are picked selectively according to their level of ripeness and it is expected to take around 160.000 kg

These grapes are processed at Fincas de Azabache, property of Viñedos de Aldeanueva, destined to the elaboration of Premium Wines.

This year in Aldeanueva de Ebro was characterised for being dry along the growth cycle and so there were not sanitary problems with the grapes.The flowering and fruit-set occurred in their usual dates and in these moments the more-developed white varieties such as White Tempranillo  are in their optimal point for recollection meanwhile varieties like Viura and Verdejo still need a few more days.

Concerning the red varieties, Tempranillo is almost ready and we estimate to harvest it in about 15 days if the evolution of their ripening is adequate but Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano are still progressing,  significantly due to this  last week favorable climatology.

The grapes, today, show a perfect state of health, with a moderate crop which indicates that it will be of a great quality.
