The Tempranillo is a Rioja autochthonous variety and the most characteristic of our Quality of Origin Denomination, covering over the 75% of the total growing area and it is considered one of the great nobles varieties of the world.

A very versatile grape variety, ideal to produce young wines as well as wines destined to long ageing, with  intense colour and balanced in alcohol and acidity.

At the vineyard, it is an early grape (from this it takes its name -early / temprano in spanish) with a short maturation cycle so the plots planted with Tempranillo are always the first ones to be ready for harvest.

As a particularity to this variety of red grapes, in 1988 it was discovered at a vineyard in Murillo del Río Leza in the DOCaRioja, a natural genetic mutation, the White Tempranillo that does not exists in any other place in the world.

The wines produced with these white grapes have high content in fruity aromas and a delicious and balanced palate.
